Born for This: A New Musical

In some ways, Born for This: A New Musical was born at Emerson. The play had two workshops at Emerson before debuting elsewhere, but ArtsEmerson now stages the New England premiere of this production about two young musical sensations who join the first family of televangelism. Based on the story of Grammy-winning gospel and R&B vocalist BeBe Winans and his sister, Cece, this musical follows his climb to mainstream success as he learns to balance the lure of fame and fortune with his purpose in life. Follow your heart when this story of family and forgiveness graces the Emerson Cutler Majestic Theatre from June 15 to July 15.  / Nathan Tavares
