Things are looking bright at Kingston Gallery, where Rose Olson uses colors and shapes inspired by natural elements in her latest abstract series, Bright, Cool and Hot, on display in the Main Gallery. The Tufts grad creates each piece by layering paint on wooden panels, allowing the grain texture to shine through, such as in diptych Up Around the Sun, seen above, which showcases contrasting warm and cool tones. The South End artist also shows off her work alongside two family members in the Center Gallery’s 3 Views, featuring Bradford Olson’s works of plastic medium poly-lactic acid and Elizabeth Olson’s photography.
