Green Door Labs’ Kellian Adams invites you to ditch what you know about Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker for the premiere of interactive production Club Drosselmeyer 1941. The immersive work transforms Oberon into a jazz supper club in 1940s Boston, where a scientist and magician named Herr Drosselmeyer welcomes a host of luminaries to dance the night away—amid whispers that he and his niece Dr. Clara Stahlbaum are working on a new military technology. Chat with the characters to solve puzzles about what the duo’s “Project Nutcracker” might be, or hit the dance floor as an eight-piece swing band performs a rollicking rewrite of Tchaikovsky’s score to the delight of aerialists and dancers. Swing along with the Sugar Plum Fairy when Club Drosselmeyer 1941 enchants Oberon from Dec. 16 to 21. / Nathan Tavares
