Dani Shapiro's 'Inheritance'

Dani Shapiro considers family origin in Inheritance, her memoir about working through tensions with her mother while identifying as her “father’s daughter” for most of her life. Shapiro’s reality is shattered in 2016 after she receives results from a DNA test stating that her father is not biologically related to her.
