'Hamlet'

Talk about daddy issues. The title prince in Hamlet is up to his ears in ’em, having come home for his father’s funeral to find out that his sketchy uncle is now his stepdad and king—and a murderer, as Dad’s vengeance-seeking ghost reveals. The Bard’s famed tragedy is a natural choice to kick off Family Fault Lines, Actors’ Shakespeare Project’s 13th season, but the venue is an unexpected one: Director Doug Lockwood is staging the play at Newbury Street’s Church of the Covenant, using the whole sanctuary space and the church organ to enhance the haunting vibe. Get in the spirit while the production continues its run through Nov. 6.
