Kelela at Royale

Up-and-coming R&B singer Kelela gathered buzz in the music industry after releasing an EP and mixtape in 2013. In her debut studio album, Take Me Apart, the first-name-only musician introduces strong but airy vocals that build to electronic beats. The Maryland native chronologically breaks down the life of a relationship throughout the tracks, including “Onanon,” which lets listeners in on the songstress’ secret—“It’s not a breakup, it’s just a breakdown.” Before the artist serenades crowds at SXSW, Coachella and Governors Ball, power through a night at Royale with Kelela on Feb. 26. / Brynne Crawley
