Lana Del Rey’s newest album, Lust for Life, has the songstress shedding the sepia tones of nostalgia for the urgency of the here and now. Though she still spins in her familiar wheelhouse with songs that conjure images of white Mustangs and summer nights, she surprises with offerings such as “Change” and “When The World Was at War We Kept Dancing”—both clear responses to the current political climate.
