'Miss You Like Hell'

In Miss You Like Hell, presented by Company One Theatre and American Repertory Theater, teenage Olivia wonders what to do when her mom, Beatriz, rolls up in a pickup truck after a long absence. Her answer: Hit the road. Making its New England premiere, the musical is a new spin on the road-trip tale with the mother-daughter duo embarking on a journey to Beatriz’s immigration hearing and exploring what it means to be American. As they encounter courageous strangers who lend a hand, the two confront and explore contrasts: between spirituality and atheism, inclusive identity and narrow views and border walls and open hearts.
