Happier Hours

Go ahead and order another round, Boston—the craft cocktail concierge service isn’t going anywhere. (Except, perhaps, to your next party.) Trailblazer Booze Époque is going strong in its fourth year, and seasoned bar pros and Bogie’s Place alums Domingo-Martin Barreres and Kevin Mabry are readying for a spring roll-out of their Barmobile, housed in a revamped 1953 Flxible bus. And just last month, Texas transplant Crystal Mills celebrated the official launch of WanderLush, the mobile bartending biz that allows the longtime cocktail enthusiast to bring handcrafted sips into your living room or office. “I’ve always been that cocktail girl with my family,” she explains. “I’ve been required to bring the sangrias to Thanksgiving and mix up drinks for barbecues.”

Now Mills aims to make other people’s special occasions a little more so by using freshly squeezed juices, homemade syrups and flavored local bitters in her bespoke concoctions. “After every event I’ve ever done, every client has said, ‘This was so worth it. This was the extra little detail for my event that people are still talking about,’ ” she says. But as for what Mills reaches for after a long day, she laughs: “Is it very wrong of me to say all I want is a beer?”
