In a match made in comfort food heaven, New York-based sweet spot Milk Bar and DC’s &pizza opened their first joint location in Cambridge earlier this month, slinging personal pies and desserts, like the exclusive Boston cream pie milkquake. “It’s a love letter to the local origins of the beloved dessert, reimagined by taking our signature cereal milk soft serve base and blending in liquid cheesecake—my favorite secret weapon—and dense yellow cake bites and glossy fudge sauce,” says Milk Bar founder and cake truffle titan Christina Tosi. “My biggest professional challenge is currently limiting myself to one a day.” Go ahead and eat dessert first, but then dig into &pizza’s Moonstruck pie, which combines garlic, ricotta, truffle, goat cheese and a fig balsamic drizzle.
