On Oct. 12, community leaders became maestros at the Boston Landmarks Orchestra’s annual gala at the Omni Parker House. Guests had the chance to conduct musicians at a cocktail party before enjoying themselves at a dinner and auction honoring the orchestra’s own technical director, Emerson Kington, as well as Manulife Financial’s James D. Gallagher and John Hancock’s MLK Scholars Program, which provides summer jobs for local teens. The 200 guests helped raised more than $300,000.
