2014 Winner: Island Creek Oyster Bar

So much of ICOB’s success has depended on adherence to its founding principle: Know your oyster farmers, clam diggers and fishermen. Because their sources have been personally vetted, the quality of those connections can be tasted in every dish—whether it’s Mrs. Bennett’s decadent seafood casserole, named for Island Creek Oysters founder Skip’s mom, or grilled lobster atop buttery roe noodles, featuring crustaceans culled by chef/co-owner Jeremy Sewall’s cousin.
