When former Neptune Oyster chef Michael Serpa struck out on his own to open Select Oyster Bar, he extended a recent string of overdue improvements to our New England seafood restaurant scene with his intimate Back Bay shrine to fish and shellfish, raw and cooked, where bright Mediterranean flavors complement New England catches. An extraordinary wine program and a darling little patio out back round out Select’s charming package, and unlike some places we could name, it takes reservations.
