You don’t have to remember the Summer of Love to appreciate Plaza, which finds Quilt channeling seriously retro vibes that are somehow as at home on our Summer 2016 Spotify playlist as they’d have been a half century ago. Mixing new material and revamped/reworked deep cuts, the indie-psych-folk outfit’s excellent third album features vocals from three of the four members, which add to the dreamy patchwork air of its 10 tracks, all drenched in a golden sonic haze that both recalls and reimagines a bygone era.
