At Loyal Nine, chef Marc Sheehan’s Colonial-inspired restaurant in East Cambridge, the phenomenal baked goods play a starring role. There’s a superb brown bread underneath soused bluefish at dinner, chocolate sourdough brewis for dessert and a lobster-and-poached-egg popover at brunch. Beyond great breads for toast and sandwiches at breakfast and lunch, Loyal Nine’s adjacent cafe also features fine pastries such as cocoa nib winkle rolls and vanilla-frosted whey buns: harmonious accompaniments to the cafe’s excellent teas and expertly prepared fourth-wave coffees.
