Octo-Nom

Everyone knows about Area Four’s pizzas, which even drew President Obama to the Cambridge spot last year. But it’s more than just ’za that’s heating up Area Four Boston, which opened in October inside the Troy Boston high-rise. A custom wood-fired oven is churning out dishes that are exclusive to the South End location, such as the charred octopus, a plate of tentacles that are poached for eight hours before being roasted by the coals. They’re served with a salad of mizuna and parsley with a green tahini sauce, chickpeas, Castelvetrano olives and house-preserved lemons. “It sort of stays in line with what we do,” executive chef Jeff Pond says. “A little rustic, but sort of approachable.”
