Hayley Spivey, 24
Dramaturge and Actress

Credits: I got my start with Company One Theatre, and now my work is freelance. My primary focus is acting. I do both fringe and equity theater. I’ve worked with SpeakEasy Stage Company, Wheelock Family Theatre, Lyric Stage Company, Fresh Ink Theatre, TC Squared, the Front Porch Arts Collective and more. I try to be everywhere. My next project is Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, a joint production between Lyric Stage Company and Actors’ Shakespeare Project. It’s my Shakespeare debut.

When you’re not onstage: I’m writing. I primarily write stage plays, but I always have a screenplay in the back of my mind.

Best feature: My smile. I love to laugh, and if a smile can make someone else cheerful, I’m delighted.

Celebrity crushes: Definitely Halsey. However, The Rock will always be my first love.

Wardrobe: PSWL Bodysuit and Roksanda Pants from All Too Human, Necklaces from Intermix. Photo: Gina Manning

Turn-ons: I love people who are either very large in stature or very small. I want to either climb you or put you in my pocket.

Nightmare scenario: I’d be horrified if my date made fun of a stranger’s appearance.

Worst trait: My attention span. I’m all over the place.

Most romantic place in the world: On the docks, looking out at the Charles River. I only go there with people I feel deeply for.

On fluidity: I never feel the need to stop what we’re doing to talk about my pansexuality. I mean, who cares? Imagine if someone you went on a date with was like, “By the way, I’m also attracted to people from other races.” Let’s just eat our pasta and talk about our favorite movies. I’d put my sexuality like this: People are hot. I’m not afraid of anyone’s genitalia. Let’s just whip our pants off and see what happens.
